Advent - Joy

But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

- Luke 2:10-11

Joy!!! One of my very favorite words ever!!! The theme for the third week of Advent is Joy. We should have joy during the Advent season because we are looking forward to celebrating the arrival of the baby Jesus, our Messiah. Our joy is the result of the heavenly provision of a baby, sent to Earth to save us all from our sins. His birth gives us the opportunity to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father.

“Joy to the world! The Savior reigns

Let men their songs employ

While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains

Repeat the sounding joy

Repeat the sounding joy

Repeat the sounding joy

He rules the world with truth and grace

And makes the nations prove

The glories of his righteousness

And wonders of his love

And wonders of his love

And wonder wonders of his love”
