Focused

Welcome 2022!

I say that with some hesitancy of course, as the past several years have roughed us all up a bit. I have taken some time to pray and seek God’s will for this space for the year. It is really my hope (and prayer) that this space will grow to become an encouragement to anyone with a child in your life, in some capacity. I will be doing my best to provide you with content that is helpful and encouraging to you as you pray for those children that the Lord has blessed you with, whether it be your own little ones or the grandchildren you pray for and minister to in life.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”

- Proverbs 4:23

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”

- Proverbs 4:25

I love these two verses from Proverbs as I am going to use both of these this year to focus my heart and my mind on the things of God and look to Him for my direction and my stability. If I have learned anything over the past couple of years, living through a pandemic, it is that most things are out of our control. How I walk through something like a pandemic and what I focus on during trials (and during the good times as well) is under my control. I can get swept up in the depressing statistics and the onslaught of bad news daily, and I can quickly allow it to control my mind and my mood. However, this year I want to focus my heart on God and His word. I want to be diligent about what and WHO I am focused on rather than all of the other noise around me. I will also try to keep my eyes looking forward  and focused on the One who holds tomorrow. I need to keep my focus on Him because if I don’t, everything else can be a giant distraction and somewhat depressing for me from time to time.

I hope you will continue to join me here as we keep our hearts, our eyes and our gaze on God.
