Faithful.

When I was trying to figure out the best way to start the blog, I decided looking at a specific attribute of God would be a great place to start and the attribute that came to mind first was faithful. God’s faithfulness is the perfect place to begin!

God’s faithfulness is an extremely important foundation for all of us. Especially as we pray for our children, grandchildren or nieces and nephews, we have to know that this great God we are praying to, is the one and only God, and that He is faithful to keep His promises. He does what He says He will do.

It helps to cling to and constantly remind ourselves of this attribute of God.  As you raise your children, whether they are 4 or 24, it is so helpful to remember that God is faithful and that He faithfully keeps His promises. God can be trusted. God knows each of us. God loves His children. We can count on the fact that He will do all He has promised.

Do you have a difficult time trusting God’s faithfulness? Is there something that keeps you from trusting in God’s goodness and love? I know I have had difficulties over the years with understanding and trusting in His faithfulness. Especially so, when I have many unanswered prayers that weigh on my mind relentlessly.  However, once I realized I do not know all that God knows, I am able to cling to God’s faithfulness because He is enough. During  these times of waiting, or what we may think is silence, we must get to the point where we trust in who He is and His promises.

Trust in His faithfulness.

Trust in His goodness even in the midst of trials.

Trust in His process.

In Paul David Tripp’s devotional New Morning Mercies, he says this about God’s faithfulness:

Yes, it is true-God will remain faithful even when you’re not, because his faithfulness rests on who he is, not what you’re doing.

I am so very thankful that is the case! I am thankful He is faithful regardless of what I am doing or not doing. I want to encourage you while you are raising your children and while you pray for specific things for the children in your care, remember God is a promise keeper. He is faithful. So, don’t be discouraged if you do not see the answers to your prayers quickly or the answer does not look the way you hoped it would.

He hears you. He loves you and He loves your children even more than you love your children. Just keep praying.

Keep seeking and keep believing He is a faithful God.
